These Terms of Use govern how you access and interact with the NurGuide Ai mobile application and related services. By using NurGuide Ai, you agree to comply with these Terms of Use and all policies incorporated herein by reference. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use immediately.

1. Acceptance

Your access to and use of NurGuide Ai constitutes full acceptance of these Terms of Use and any related policies. These Terms of Use should be read in conjunction with the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

2. Limited License

NurGuide Ai grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for personal, non-commercial Islamic educational purposes only. You may not:

  • Copy, reproduce, distribute, or publicly display the app or its content
  • Modify, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code or AI model parameters
  • Use the Service or its content for commercial purposes without prior written authorization
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any copyright, trademark, or proprietary notices
  • Create derivative works based on the Service or its content

This license does not transfer any ownership of intellectual property rights.

3. Educational Purpose — What NurGuide Ai Is and Is Not

NurGuide Ai provides general educational content to support the learning and understanding of Islamic knowledge. It is a learning tool, not a religious authority. NurGuide Ai:

  • Does NOT issue fatwas or provide binding religious rulings of any kind
  • Does NOT replace qualified Islamic scholars, muftis, or imams
  • Does NOT represent any specific madhhab, sect, or theological movement
  • Does NOT guarantee the accuracy or completeness of any content
  • Does NOT serve as the sole or primary source for any religious decision

For all matters of personal religious practice, legal disputes, family matters, inheritance, zakat, Islamic finance, or any high-stakes decision, consultation with a qualified scholar is required.

4. AI Learning Companion

The AI Islamic Learning Companion generates responses automatically based on patterns learned from Islamic texts and scholarly sources. You acknowledge and agree that:

  • Responses are generated by automated systems and are not reviewed in real time by qualified scholars
  • Responses may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or contextual limitations
  • Responses may present one perspective where multiple valid scholarly opinions exist
  • Responses cannot replace human scholarly judgment, contextual expertise, or lived Islamic learning
  • All conversations are processed and stored locally on your device under Zero Knowledge Architecture — never on NurGuide Ai servers

NurGuide Ai is not liable for any actions taken, decisions made, or consequences arising from reliance on AI-generated responses.

5. Prayer Times and Qibla Direction

Prayer times and Qibla direction are calculated using GPS-based location data and recognized calculation methodologies. You acknowledge that:

  • GPS data may be imprecise depending on device capabilities and environmental conditions
  • Calculation methodologies may differ from those adopted by your local mosque or Islamic authority
  • Local prayer times may vary based on regional standards, madhab preferences, or rukyah considerations

Users are responsible for independently confirming prayer times with their local mosque or Islamic center. NurGuide Ai is not responsible for missed prayers or any adverse consequences resulting from timing discrepancies.

6. Zero Knowledge Architecture

NurGuide Ai is designed with a Zero Knowledge Architecture to ensure complete privacy of your interactions:

  • All conversations and AI interactions are stored locally on your device only
  • No conversation content is ever transmitted to or stored on NurGuide Ai servers
  • A conversation summary is saved locally on your device at the end of each session
  • You may optionally back up summaries to Google Drive (Android) or iCloud (iOS)
  • NurGuide Ai has zero access to your conversation data at any time
  • Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all locally stored conversation data

You are solely responsible for managing your local data and any cloud backups you choose to enable. NurGuide Ai is not responsible for data loss resulting from device failure, app uninstallation, or third-party cloud service issues.

7. User Responsibilities

By using NurGuide Ai, you agree to:

  • Independently verify Qur'anic verses, Hadith references, and any religious information provided
  • Consult qualified scholars and imams when required, particularly for personal rulings
  • Confirm prayer times and Qibla direction with local Islamic authorities
  • Use the Service responsibly, respectfully, and only for lawful purposes
  • Accept full responsibility for all decisions made based on Service content
  • Not represent AI-generated content as authoritative scholarship or official religious rulings

8. Prohibited Activities

You may not use the Service to:

  • Spread misinformation about Islam or misrepresent Islamic teachings
  • Present AI responses as official fatwas or authoritative religious rulings
  • Misquote, manipulate, alter, or decontextualize content to mislead others
  • Promote extremism, violence, terrorism, or hate of any kind
  • Engage in any unlawful activity or violate applicable laws or regulations
  • Attempt to hack, disrupt, reverse engineer, or compromise the Service
  • Use automated bots, scrapers, or unauthorized collection tools
  • Use the Service in any manner that damages NurGuide Ai's reputation or that of the Islamic faith

9. Intellectual Property

All software, design elements, branding, and proprietary content are owned by NurGuide Ai or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The Qur'anic text is divine revelation and not subject to copyright; however, specific translations, commentary, and compilations may be protected by third-party copyright.

You may not extract, copy, or redistribute app content without express written authorization.

10. User-Generated Content

If you create personal content such as notes or bookmarks within the Service, you retain full ownership of that content. Under Zero Knowledge Architecture, any such content stored locally on your device is accessible only to you. NurGuide Ai has no access to locally stored user content. You are solely responsible for managing your local data and any cloud backups you choose to enable.

11. Third-Party Integrations

NurGuide Ai may integrate third-party services including authentication providers, prayer time APIs, and location services. These services operate under their own terms and privacy policies. NurGuide Ai is not responsible for third-party platforms or their practices.

12. Location Services

If you enable location services, you permit NurGuide Ai to use your location data to calculate prayer times, determine Qibla direction, and enable location-based features. You may disable location access at any time in your device settings.

13. No Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. NurGuide Ai MAKES NO WARRANTIES REGARDING THE ACCURACY OF AI-GENERATED RESPONSES, COMPLETENESS OF RELIGIOUS CONTENT, RELIABILITY OF ANY FEATURE, UNINTERRUPTED SERVICE, COMPATIBILITY WITH ALL DEVICES, OR THE CONTINUED AVAILABILITY OF LOCALLY STORED DATA IN THE EVENT OF DEVICE LOSS OR APP UNINSTALLATION. USE OF THE SERVICE IS ENTIRELY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

14. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, NurGuide Ai AND ITS AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ERRORS IN ANY CONTENT, RELIGIOUS DECISIONS MADE BASED ON APP CONTENT, SERVICE INTERRUPTIONS, DATA LOSS OR TECHNICAL FAILURES, INDIRECT OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OF ANY KIND, OR LOSS OF LOCALLY STORED DATA DUE TO DEVICE FAILURE OR APP UNINSTALLATION. YOUR SOLE REMEDY FOR DISSATISFACTION WITH THE SERVICE IS TO DISCONTINUE USE.

15. Service Modifications

NurGuide Ai may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue any feature or aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice. This includes updates to AI systems, calculation methodologies, interface design, and content sources.

16. Account Termination

You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@nurguideai.com. NurGuide Ai may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Upon app uninstallation, all locally stored conversation data and summaries will be permanently deleted from your device. NurGuide Ai does not retain copies of this data and cannot recover it once deleted.

17. Changes to These Terms of Use

We may update these Terms of Use at any time. Updated Terms become effective upon posting. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
